Do I need kayaking and/or fishing experience to enjoy your Kayak Fishing Tour?
No. We can teach you everything you need to know for both kayaking and fishing while on our Kayak Fishing Tours. A lot of our clients have never paddled or fished before and we can easily teach you the basics you need to enjoy yourselves. Your guide will give you initial instruction plus ongoing paddle and fishing tips while on the water. Remember a Kayak Fishing Tour with us is both easy and fun. That said, we can also cater for those that enjoy a real challenge; please let us know what your experience is when booking with us, so we can ensure you have “the TIME of your life!” while on our Kayak Fishing Tour.

No. Auckland has a wonderful climate and you will be warm in most weather conditions anyway. Even in winter we provide you with specialist kayaking gear to ensure you’re nice and cosy. What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?
Our Auckland Kayak Fishing Tours are weather dependent and we do watch out for suitable weather to go ahead with our Kayak Fishing Tours. If for any reason we deem the weather to be unsuitable (a bit of rain is not such a reason), then we may cancel a tour and give you the choice between a full refund and postponement of a tour to another day.

What is special about our Kayak Fishing & Kayak Adventures tours?
Kayak Fishing Tours have been pioneered in New Zealand by TIME Unlimited in Auckland – something we are very proud of. In addition to being the first to offer New Zealand Kayak Fishing Tours, we very much believe that through constant improvement and becoming better all the time, we continue to offer the very best Kayak Fishing Tours in New Zealand.

What is your guide to client ratio?
Our guide to client ratio is max 1 to 6 (one guide for 6 clients) for most of our tours. This is to keep it all really personal and also for safety reasons.

Where do we go?
Auckland Kayak Fishing Tours: About 30-45 minutes north of Auckland on the sheltered east coast, we are lucky to have some of New Zealand’s most beautiful white sandy beaches that are perfect for Kayak Fishing, since here both the Kayaking and the Kayak Fishing are fantastic in one of New Zealand’s most beautiful environments. We use this area for our Kayak Fishing Full Day Tours and also our Kayak Fishing Overnight Tours.
Will I fall out / do the kayaks capsize easily?
No. We use very stable and high-quality sit-on kayaks. Should you fall in, you will NOT be potentially trapped underwater unable to get out, as you could be in classical sea kayaks with spray-deck etc. Instead, you would just fall off and we can get you back in very easily.
Will I get wet?
You may get wet if it rains or in the unlikely event of you falling in, which happens very rarely. If you do fall in unexpectedly, then we are prepared and your guide will ensure you stay warm. We do provide paddle jackets and paddle pants for your comfort if required. Please remember that the fishing is usually best on overcast and rainy days, so rain is not bad at all!
